Family Photos

As a documenter, I took a lot of photographs in my youth, of my travels, my years in the Navy and of course of the family. All the ones that I took, as well as those that were passed down or given to me by others, totaled about 7,000 photos which I put into a series of almost 40 albums covering the period from the 1890s up to 2015.

These hard-cover albums were not very user friendly as they were bulky, heavy, unwieldy and difficult to share. So, I went through them all and selected about 70% of them to digitize. I then labeled and organized them chronologically and by theme into one CD covering 1890 to 2015 and later another covering 2016 to 2023. For 2024 an onward I will do individual annual additions. When I have a decent number of individual years, I’ll consolidate them into a master CD.

Hoping that they would have the most value to our children, I organized many of the folders by the ages of the children so they could better identify with them. I value these photos as an integral part of our family history.

The CD photo albums and Indexes are shown below.
